Over the past couple of weeks I've been thinking. As good as my blog is, it has serious drawbacks. Those who are posted 1st, are shoved back to the 10th page, and as we continue to grow, they will move further back into oblivion. I was the 1st entry and I'm on page 10, just to show you what I'm saying.
As far as blogs go, there's no way to rectify that, but I've come up with a possible solution. I'm opening an ONLINE BOOKSTORE, called "THE BOOKHOUSE". Yes that means a website. I've already got the website, and have already started to post authors on the site.
Don't shudder just yet, let me say my piece, because I've done a lot of serious thinking about it.
As an author, myself, I know that every cent counts, and that I want every cent that's coming to me, from every sale of my book. I've worked hard for it, just like each and every author has for theirs. That said, let me make it very clear, I WILL GET NOTHING FROM THE SALE OF YOUR BOOK or BOOKS posted on THE BOOKHOUSE. I am not in this to make a profit off each of you. My profit will come from the sale of MY books and them alone.
You may be asking, so what's the catch?
I do need money to run the website, $49.95 a year, just to give us 300 mg of space to have a large number of authors, and to be able to place ads where I feel it's necessary to attract readers and book lovers to our website, in hopes they'll buy books.
For that reason, I've set up a registration fee of $2.00 for one year's posting of up to 4 books. 1 Book will have a complete posting, including synopsis, and the other three will be just the book covers and BUY NOW buttons. The $2.00 fee won't hurt, and I want everyone who wants to be a part of the Bookhouse, to be able to do so, without hurting their pocketbook.

Once we have a good group of authors on the site, and we are fully operational with a Grand Opening of April 1st 2009, I'll be rotating posts, so those at the bottom will be moved to the top of every genre, every week, giving every author equal exposure to readers and visitors to our site.
Even though I have only nine authors, plus myself, so far, I have 30 signed up, and I'm just now expanding my search for authors, outside of Authors And Their Books Blog.

I have a PAYPAL registration fee and button, complete with my agreement to all authors who want to be a part of THE BOOKHOUSE. If you don't see your genre listed, that's because I need to get the money to upgrade the website for more pages. I have a free site now, and they only allow so many pages for free. Once I upgrade, I'll be adding more genres.
The Bookhouse will be under construction until April 1st, when we will have a Grand Opening of sorts. With any kind of luck, we'll see some serious sales on our opening day.
